DPF Regeneration & Engine Carbon Cleaning

DPF Regeneration & Engine Carbon Cleaning

Short journeys can prevent a diesel particulate filter (DPF) from completing normal regeneration, allowing soot to accumulate. Symptoms may include a DPF warning light, reduced performance or increased fuel consumption, although other faults can produce similar signs.

Carbon deposits can also affect EGR valves and intake components on some diesel and petrol engines, including certain hybrids. We begin with suitable diagnostic checks and assess whether regeneration, appropriate chemical cleaning, specialist component cleaning or repair may be required. Cleaning sprays do not resolve every fault, and any treatment depends on vehicle suitability, technician equipment and safe working conditions.

What to know before booking

Give us the vehicle registration, symptoms and any relevant photos. We can then advise whether the request is suitable for mobile work and estimate the time required.

What we can help with

We can assess DPF warning lights, repeated short-journey soot build-up, and symptoms that could be associated with EGR or intake carbon deposits. Suitable diagnostic checks help establish whether a mobile intervention is appropriate.

What happens next

Tell us the registration, warning lights, symptoms and whether the car is running normally. We will confirm equipment, access and any diagnostic assessment before recommending appropriate next steps or a separate repair quotation.

Vehicle-specific requirements

DPF regeneration and chemical cleaning are not suitable in every case. Some high-soot-load or ash-loaded filters, sensor faults and underlying engine problems require repair or workshop treatment first; vehicle-specific safety checks and suitable working conditions are essential.

Working space: We may need to move your vehicle nearby if there isn’t enough space for our mobile workshop van.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to provide my registration?

Yes. It helps confirm the correct engine, parts and relevant repair instructions before the quote is finalised.

Can the work be completed at my home?

Potentially, subject to safe parking, access, the vehicle condition and equipment needed. Some work requires workshop facilities.

Can I book without a fixed online price?

This is currently a website prototype. Work requiring specific parts, vehicle details or workshop assessment will need a confirmed quotation before any binding booking.

Where can the technician work?

A suitable driveway or permitted private car park is preferred where safe. Street work is subject to access and safe working conditions.

What does the £50 deposit mean?

A proposed future £50 booking deposit would be included within—not added to—the agreed service quotation. The live deposit and cancellation rules are pending review and implementation.
